Talking of my town Morioka ...., Morioka is a beautiful city, with the population of over 270,000, located in the northern part of Honshu ( main island of Japan ). It is set in a magnificent landscape, which incorporates three lovely rivers through town, a lot of historic and historical spots, and the range of mountains, such as Mts. Iwate and Akikoma, around it.
Morioka, blessed with natural beauty, is home to a lot of species of wild life. You can enjoy watching salmon swim up the river to lay their eggs in fall, and see swans and other migrating birds on the rivers in winter.
Morioka has a lot of historic spots, which have been carefully preserved by its warm-hearted residents, such as Iwate Park or the site of a castle and Hoonji Temple which displays five hundred buddhist statues. These buildings and sites will tell you a lot of interesting stories.

Sansa Odori, traditional festival which comes from dancing in planting rice, is held in August.
Numerous groups of Morioka residents, dressed in traditional costume, dance down a main street to the accompaniment of the delightful music of bamboo flutes, taiko drums, and joyous, funny shout.
The town of Morioka is said by its residents to be a pleasure to live in, and is known for its relaxed, friendly atomosphere and its cultural diversity.
